Water Safety New Zealand Inc (WSNZ) works to keep New Zealander's safe in the water - at home, at the beach, in rivers and lakes and out at sea. Since 1985, vigorous education programmes have helped reduce the annual drowning toll by 40%. This countries drowning rates are shockingly high. But they are much better than they were. Thanks to the work of WSNZ, its member organisations, supporters and volunteers. Our vision is for a country where everyone has the attitudes, skills and behaviour they need to be safe in the water. That's why we are totally committed to lowering the annual drowning toll through education, leadership and actively promoting water safety awareness and opportunities.

Sink or Swim - you decide

Lives will be saved when people like you step forward, say "this has got to stop" and pledge your financial support.

Why? Because for people to survive, two things have to happen. Firstly, there has to be adequate resources to educate all members of the community in water safety. And secondly, every member of the community has to be aware of the threat and take responsibility for their safety in and around water.

Both require money, more than we have.
