Drownbase™

Water Safety New Zealand (WSNZ) have analysed DrownBase™ data to produce the following range of Fact Sheets. The Fact Sheets are designed to inform and educate. The data represents fatal drownings in New Zealand from 2006–2010 and is represented across three areas; Activity, Environment and Demographic. Excluded from analysis are road vehicle, homicide, suicide, aircraft and other commercial related drowning deaths (Other). By making 44 Drowning Fact Sheets available, WSNZ is seeking to inform New Zealanders with accurate information in relation to drowning incidents. This information is now freely available.

All data or information reproduced in any medium requires acknowledgement of DrownBase™ and WSNZ. The information in these Fact Sheets is provisional as at 1 February 2011 and is subject to change.
