Water Safety New Zealand – Director Vacancy
Water based recreation is a fundamental part of life in New Zealand. Unfortunately, all too often, summer brings a drowning toll that is unacceptable in today’s society.
Water Safety New Zealand (WSNZ) is dedicated to saving these lives, and we are looking for a highly motivated and commercially capable person to join our Board of Directors and help to lead a change in the national attitude to safety in, on and around water.
WSNZ is the lead organisation of the water safety sector with a mission that all New Zealanders should be able to enjoy our natural aquatic heritage safely. Our core members include Coastguard, Surf Life Saving and Swimming NZ.
WSNZ’s key accountabilities are to lead the development of sector strategy, policy development, advocacy, research, monitoring and evaluation and as a funder of sector programmes and activities.
WSNZ is seeking to appoint an independent director to the Board to ensure that the range of skills and experience required for effective governance of the entity are present.
