Water Polo is the oldest continuous Olympic team sport (every Olympics since 1926) and is played in New Zealand at all competence levels – from beginner through to High Performance National teams.
Starting with an adapted variation to the game - Flippa Ball which is played in shallow water for our primary school participants and then progressing to Water Polo where we provide opportunities with schools, clubs and social competitions. Children as young as five start playing Flippa Ball. In some parts of the country, Flippa Ball has been run concurrently with swimming lessons, which has seen attendance at the lessons soar.
Water Polo provides the perfect avenue to enhance water confidence while gaining a high level of aquatic competence. Water Polo enables development of some key fundamentals of life including confidence, teamwork and commitment while maintaining a healthy fit lifestyle.
