Safekids Aotearoa is the national child injury prevention service, and a service of Starship Children's Health. Safekids works to raise public awareness of child injury issues and provide evidence-based information to planners, decision makers and the injury prevention workforce to improve child safety. Safekids is a member of Safekids Worldwide, an international network in 26 countries which share research, knowledge and best practice intervention models to address unacceptably high rates of unintentional injuries to children.
Our mission: To reduce the incidence and severity of unintentional injuries to children.
Our vision: That children in are free to enjoy their childhood without being adversely affected by unintentional injuries.
