Research Advisory Group

Research is a vitally important function served by WSNZ. On the basis of this research, WSNZ sets its drowning prevention goals and decides the best way of achieving them.

The Research Advisory Group (RAG) has been established to lead in the facilitation and co-ordination of WSNZ’s research function, as outlined in the Strategic Direction.

Specifically the RAG will:

  • Identify, prioritise and address gaps in current data sources and knowledge;
  • Enhance the evidence base of effective interventions and programmes;
  • Provide for better co-ordination and support of New Zealand-specific research into water safety to benefit water safety education outcomes.
