Swim For Life

Half of all 10 year old kids can’t swim 25 meters. … And a quarter can’t even keep afloat.

WSNZ research shows that our children’s swimming skills are continuing to decline.

We need to do something about it now!

That all New Zealand children have adequate opportunities to learn to swim must become a priority.

It is your responsibility as a parent to ensure you provide these opportunities for your child to develop this core-life skill.

Professional water confidence and swimming lessons are great and WSNZ encourages all parents who can enroll their child in a swim school to do so. Click here for regional Swim Schools.

However the reality is, for any number of reasons, that this is not an option for all parents.

Don’t be discouraged! There is so much you can do to contribute towards your child learning and the sooner you start the better. Knowing just the basics will enhance their experiences in the water and make a big difference towards them ultimately learning to swim confidently and competently.

LEARN TO SWIM. LEARN TO SURVIVE. SWIM FOR LIFE.
